Paris, Mon Amour

Now I am not studying, nor sleeping but having a good time with my computer and finally can share some pics from my trip to Paris which happened to be last week.

I visited Paris for the second time in my life and it was totally different. I did NOT visit any attractions this time. Even the Eiffel tower hasn't been lucky to meet me. Of course it's a pity,we only have been there for 4 days and  I haven't visited any exhibitions I wanted to. But I am not sorry for that :D I had a great, amazing vacation!
First time in my life I fell so in love with the city. Maybe it was just my mood to blame, or my extra sensitive nature at that moment of my life... I don't know. But there was something in the air I had never felt before..

The Louvre is still on the same place

I love this one )

I really liked this art deco room, so I took a picture of it, although it was only a display of an interior shop, maybe one of the thousands in Paris.

First time in my life I tasted four different cremes brulees at a time :D They were delicious!

Did I walk Champs-Elysee with a map? :D Yes, I was looking for a place known for their best macrons.

Driving in Paris is still as crazy as parking. If you have a tiny car, than might find a place to fit in, but don't worry, it will be punched anyway.

:D I've just noticed that man on the background. Actually I was thinking were to go next and was drinking some kind of a natural lemonade that I really loved. I asked Sergei to take a picture of it, not me!! :D

Les Enfants Terribles has an amazing chef de cuisine! ))

Late night after dining out I came to my cozy hotel and started playing chess :D I wasn't good at it!
The dress is by Iris Janvier

I asked him why he kept his dog sleeping all day long on his hurdy-gurdy. He couldn't understand me :DD

When I first heard street musicians playing in the tube it was nice.. :D

I noticed that I usually take pictures of windows no matter where I go. I don't know.. I'm used to it :D

Yep, I slept as much as I wanted! ))

A view from our balcony

Merry-go-round, Vera goes forth.

Famous Buddha Bar has given us some nice cocktails and a new friend from Brazil! :D It was fun

We spent our last hours at l'Arc nightclub. Everything about this club was extremely nice - people, bar attenders, the club itself. Music was incredibly my taste! :D

I loved it

p.c. I love French.

THE MIDIS part II Caught in the middle

I feel like I am obsessed with them. Midi length is getting its positions set on the stage of high fashion world. And our goal is to bring it back to the streets. Flared, pencil - matter of taste and body type. Colors vary from brights to blacks.. aaaand my favorite beige, browns, greens and blues are under the spotlight this season. Trying to color up my autumn days from year to year I am very into chromatic these days, although it's hard to put something colorful on when it's raining and only getting colder.. I call it instinct of BLACK :D
So, as I promised a little shoot of my new vintage midi skirt I bought from Fankadelik

Skirt vintage from Fankadelik, shirt H&M, shoes Flower, stockings Wolford, bag Braccialini, watch Swatch, earrings Accessorize, pineapple Konsum :D:D

Sorry for me being too brief, there are so much interesting things to do besides.
Glad to announce, that it is Tallinn Fashion Week this week starting on Wednesday. And I'm thrilled to see what our local Estonian designers come up with this fall. So, stay in touch.

Wishing you all the best
And have a good seasonal shopping therapy

THE MIDIS part I

Vogue UK August 2011

OK, so now we all know that Midi length is back and is a must-have in both summer and fall. But do we know what is the exact length of midi skirt? And what's its story?

If you google midi skirt there is absolutely nothing to catch an eye upon, so I studied a little of my home fashion literature, and that's what I found.

First of all, it's not true, that midi length is always 70's. It actually first comes from early 1910's.. Even though wealthy ladies couldn't afford wearing skirts that sat a little bit higher than their ankles, due to the fact that it was impolite, girls from working class had no such problem. Then it was War that settled the new length down; it was Gabrielle Chanel, who always wanted to cut the skirt, as she didn't know how to sew and her favorite tool were scissors... :D These pictures are from different decades.

Only decades after fashion world realized that women can dress that way. 20's, 30's, 40's. I am talking about the lowest of the midi skirts. Bonnie, the Clyde's who lived in 30's is a nice "midi" one :D

Talking about the length itself, as you can see on the picture below, there are three midi lengths - models C, D and E. First two are minis and the last one is maxi. So, if you see the definition which says that midi skirt is always hiding only knees, or v.v. lays somewhere in the middle of your ankle, don't believe it, because its length varies.

Part II is coming along with midi trends and some pics of my  personal belongings I got from the vintage store... I guess and hope tomorrow..

Take care
